I shall find out more about your 'Hindu Concepts of Liberation' book which had such an effect on you. Thank you for commenting. But I must say I have read a few strange academic books that have left me spellbound (back in the day:)) - 'Hindu Concepts of Liberation' being one of them. I must dig that out again and see if I'm any the wiser :) Have a great week Jan. Or perhaps he was seen as modern and different once?

I'll be interested to hear how well you think this idea works.Patsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12263765378083045973noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3357383818158631304.post-51931116969557965102016-02-21T10:25:20.759-08:002016-02-21T10:25:20.759-08:00The book sounds just up my street, Sue. Picture books for any age can be so powerful and 'The Mysteries of Harris Burdick' sounds wonderful. I shall certainly look out for the book. I've been trying to think of an equally special and unusual book and the one that springs to mind is The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburgh. It is a picture book for older children. An "introduction" explains that many years ago, Harris Burdick brought some pictures to a publisher, each with a small snippet of writing from its story. The publisher was fascinated and asked HB to return with the full stories and complete sets of pictures, but HB was never seen again. The book is made up of a series of unrelated quirky, atmospheric drawings, each with a small caption. Wonderful stuff! With your education background, you can imagine what a marvellous book this was for inspiring children's writing. Thanks for an interesting blog. And good luck with the editing.Susanna Bavinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05716163626810832427noreply@blogger.com
